Modules

Developing Business Skills

The aim of this module is to ensure you have a clear understanding of the requirements of the final year of undergraduate study, and provide you with a range of skills that will enable you to navigate your programme of study with the greatest chance of success. Hospitality and tourism managers must know how organisations function; interconnect with other roles; and be effective communicators and team members.

Business Research Methods

This module gives you the methods and a methodology for undertaking a piece of research in the business or management field. Honing your academic research capabilities in preparation for your final major project will also provide a lifelong skill.

International Business Strategy

This module aims to provide you with an understanding of the challenges of international business and of the strategic issues facing businesses. Tourism and hospitality are competitive sectors, so strategic business acumen will help to create and sustain success.

International Marketing Strategy

You are introduced to the various aspects of international marketing with the principal objective of developing the skills to identify, analyse and solve problems encountered in the development of international marketing strategies. Marketing starts with the customer and builds from there: learn to develop end-to-end marketing strategies for achieving key goals.

Work-based Project

We will encourage you to apply for a workplace project which is relevant to your studies and, if possible, match your career aspirations.

International Hospitality Operations Management

This module provides you with an understanding of the skills, techniques, technology and management issues involved in hospitality operations. Explore the complex systems which ensure efficiency and a great customer experience, and how to respond when challenges arise.

International Tourism Destination Management

You will develop an understanding of the complex range of business and management strategies for tourism businesses. You will develop a critical awareness of the need for a holistic approach to tourism destinations and its complexities, whilst making extensive use of international case studies. Learn to balance a region’s promotion with the need to protect it from bad development, labour abuse and environmental threats.

  • Understand the economics of the industry, and how to manage turnover and profitability.

    Use what you’ve learned, in theory and practice, to solve operational problems and make business improvements.
  • Understand strategic decision-making, including in the international arena.
    Identify and respond appropriately to diversity among consumers, employees, organisations, governments and external agencies.
  • Identify and analyse business problems in both local and international arenas, and formulate potential solutions.

Entry Requirements

  • BTS, DUT, CPGE, 2nd year of university graduates – The equivalent of 120 ECTS.
  • Students with a good level in English: a minimum TOEIC score of 650 or the grade of 13/20at the BTS ou DUT English exam.
